【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesameansfordeterminingthemodulusofruptureofasquarecrosssectiongraphitespecimenmachinedfromtheelectrodecoresampleobtainedaccordingtoPracticeC783,withaminimumcorediameterof57mm.Thistestmethodisrecommendedforqualitycontrolorqualityassurancepurposes,butshouldnotbereliedupontocomparematerialsofradicallydifferentparticlesizesororientationalcharacteristics.Forthesereasonsaswellasthosediscussedin4.2anabsolutevalueofflexuralstrengthmaynotbeobtained.SpecimenSize8212;Themaximumparticlesizeandmaximumporesizevarygreatlyformanufacturedgraphiteelectrodes,generallyincreasingwithelectrodediameter.Thetestisonarathershortstubbybeam,thereforetheshearstressisnotinsignificantcomparedtotheflexuralstress,andthetestresultsmaynotagreewhenadifferentratioorspecimensizeisused.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthemodulusofruptureinbendingofspecimenscutfromgraphiteelectrodesusingasimplesquarecrosssectionbeaminfour-pointloadingatroomtemperature.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
