【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedforspecificationanalysisofhigh-purityn-heptaneandisooctane,whichareusedasASTMKnockTestReferenceFuels.Hydrocarbonimpuritiesorcontaminants,whichcanadverselyaffecttheoctanenumberofthesefuels,arepreciselydeterminedbythismethod.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesfortheanalysisofhigh-purity(greaterthan99.5%byvolume)n-heptaneandisooctane(2,2,4-trimethylpentane),whichareusedasprimaryreferencestandardsindeterminingtheoctanenumberofafuel.Individualcompoundspresentinconcentrationsoflessthan0.01%canbedetected.Columnsspecifiedbythistestmethodmaynotallowseparationofallimpuritiesinreferencefuels.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresforobtaininginformationondirectphotolysisrates,quantumyields,andphototransformationproductsofmaterialsinanaqueousenvironment.Laboratorytestingproceduresdesignedtoprovideestimatesofenvironmentalratesofphotolysisaredescribed.1.2Athree-tieredapproachisdescribed.Thetestingproceduresaredesignedtoprovidebasicandeasilyobtainableinformationinthefirsttier.Moredetailedandcostlyexperimentsareproposedinthesecondandthirdtiers.Thisapproachisthoughttobemorescientificandcost-effectivethanonewhichprovidesfornosequentialassessment.Itisnotwithinthescopeofthistestmethodtoprovidedecisionpointstomovefromonetiertothenext.Thedegreeoftestingshouldbedecidedaspartofanoverallexposureassessmentinwhichtheimportanceofphotolysisisweighedwithrespecttoothertransformationroutes.1.3Theseproceduresaredesignedtobeapplicabletoalltypesofmaterials.However,testsonformulationsandcommercialproductsthatarecomplexmixturesofmaterialswithdiversephysicalandchemicalpropertiesmayrequireisolationofindividualcompoundspriortotestingtoeliminateindirectphotochemicalreactions.Withslightmodification,theseproceduresshouldmeettheneedsofmostinvestigators.1.4Indevelopingthistestmethodanattemptwasmadetobalancetheneedsandcostsagainstthescientificconsiderationsandreliabilityofresults.Majorconsiderationswere:(1)thattheproceduresgenerateprecise,accurate,andenvironmentallyrelevantdata,and(2)thattheproceduralrequirementsbeasflexibleaspossiblewithoutdestroyingthisintegrityofthedataandtheabilitytocompareinterlaboratoryresults.1.5Sincealldetailsarenotcoveredinthistestmethod,successfulexecutionofthedescribedtestswillrequiresometrainingorexperienceintheareaofphotolysis.Familiaritywiththematerialinthereferencesisessential.DetaileddescriptionsonconductingsimilartestprocedureshavebeenpublishedbytheU.S.EnvironmentalProtectionAgency(1,2).1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection6.
